We, at Bonsai & Beyond Garden Centre, have a unique boutique of small trees, plants and other earthly delights that people love to view and buy!

Our labour of love started with our mother, Tina. Tina’s interest in plants began with her father, Alex, who was a florist in the 40’s in Sydney. His nickname was “Roses” as he used to sell roses all around the city. Tina helped her father and from there on her passion for plants began which eventually led to a life committed to growing bonsai.

For us daughters in this family tree, what began as a hobby grew into retail business starting with Paddington markets over 25 years ago and then the Rocks markets and Haymarkets. My sister, Isavella, was totally involved with Tina regarding the markets and then I, Paula, joined forces after forgoing my architecture career.

Demand for a store led to the opening of a nursery Bonsai & Beyond. We opened our nursery in Waverley in 1995 and then moved to Balmain five years later.

Balmain is where we will stay for ever! We have a great selection of bonsai as well as a comprehensive range of pots, tools and ornaments. Don’t forget the school and clinic too.

However, it’s not just bonsai, it’s also 'beyond', encompassing an eclectic selection of everything you need for your garden.
